DHAKA, Feb 26, 2015 (BSS)-Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) is
organizing a musical evening by Himadri Shekhor Talukder and Shimu Dey at nIGCC, Gulshan-1, Dhaka at 6:30 pm on February 28.

Talukder's devotion and love for Tagore songs enabled him to complete his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music with specialization in Rabindra Sangeet from the Viswa Bharati University in Shantiniketan, an Indian High Commission press release said.

Since then, he has performed at prominent musical concerts both in India and Bangladesh such as at the Kolkata Bangla Music Festival, Tagore Birth Anniversary celebrations at Rabindra Sadan in Kolkata, Rabindra Sangeet Sammelan Utsav in Pondicherry and "Bishshe Bangalee" - a musical soiree as part of Rabindranath’s 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations at Birla Sadan in Kolkata.

Mr. Talukder has also been selected as a representative artist from
Bangladesh for the year-long joint celebrations of the 150th Birth
Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore between India and Bangladesh.

He is a regular performer for Bangladesh TV and Radio, as also for private television channels.

Shimu Dey, born at Sirajganj in Bangladesh, is an enlisted artist of
Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television. Having completed her Masters in Rabindra Sangeet, she won a number of awards including Gold Medal in classical music from the Jatiyo Shiksha Shoptaho (1998), silver medal in Rabindra Sangeet from Jatiyo Shiksha Shoptaho (2001) and gold medal in Rabindra Sangeet from Jatiyo Shiksha Shoptaho (2003).
